Committed to Moral and Spiritual Development
Since St. John’s Episcopal Day School’s establishment in 1958, we have been committed to the moral and spiritual development of our students. Our mission, as an Episcopal school, is not simply to educate children in the traditional sense, but to educate them while embracing the values and ideals of Christianity.
At St. John’s, we begin each day in a reflective and meaningful way with daily Chapel services geared toward uniting our school’s community as one. Through story and discussion, Father Jim, Mother Nancy and Ms. Carrie bring to life the fundamental values and life lessons important for our children.
Controlled Class Sizes Where Children Excel
A small neighborhood school, our academic program emphasizes the basic building blocks of learning with smaller classes from 2K through Grade 6, ensuring a greater degree of individualized attention from the instructor. We have two classes for each grade level with the exception of our 2-year old group, which consists of one class. Each class is generally capped at approximately 18 students, providing children with an opportunity to excel in a warm and caring environment.
Our early childhood education programs provide a welcoming and accepting environment that creatively engages our youngest learners. Early school experiences are those that matter most. At St. John’s Episcopal Day School, our rich and extensive preschool curriculum is designed to meet the intellectual, emotional, physical, social and spiritual needs of each child.
Children in the elementary education program are encouraged to develop their unique talents and skills. This assists them to confidently express themselves, think critically and creatively, and foster a genuine love of learning. In the elementary grade levels, our students take greater personal responsibility for their learning as they expand and solidify their basic skills and knowledge.
Each and every member of our school’s community is passionate about our children’s education. Dedicated members of our faculty and administration work together to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where your child can explore, ask questions and engage in intellectual discussions. Through exemplary instructional practices, students are exposed to a variety of academic and enriching activities to build confidence and character.
A Solid Foundation for Education
At St. John’s, we not only seek to provide each student with the academic framework necessary to reach their full potential, but also cultivate a limitless curiosity for learning and deep appreciation for the ideas and values inherent in our curriculum and close-knit community. Our graduates leave us as well-rounded young scholars who are welcomed at the best local middle schools.
